Refound this again today while adding "and Cleo(im)patra" to my finds.
This is a terrific walk for anyone that enjoys good exercise, fantastic scenery, and a well defined track.
Must say though that the cache is still in good order, well stocked full of goodies.
Just a shame it hasn't had a heap more visits.

Thanks again vk3-jap and cache mistress Nola for the highly enjoyable walk.

Well...we took a while to get around to getting this cache but we finally did have time and we did it via the east face of the mountain.
Yes, that's right, the East side. Through the scrub and undergrowth.
The Wednesday walking group of the Essendon Bushwalking Club had a walk in the area and it was somewhat of an adventure being mainly off track.
We breached the summit for lunch and it was nice to not only have the veiw as a reward, but to pick up a cache as well.
We will try for the other local caches on our next foray into the area. And yes...probably off track again!

I'd also like to thank all those involved in setting up this cache for their efforts in setting up the page and all the associated links and waypoints. We chose the shortest route and appreciated the links to maps and information and the waypoints to help us along the way. Cheers VP4

Found today and what a great cache in a very little visited area. Really enjoyed the walk even though it did show how unfit I am as I laboured up the hills while my son casually strolled along. We had lunch on the cairn before heading back. We thought we were there only to be tricked by the false summit. Overall a really good experience. In crab out candle and Waleed TB. SL TFTC

What a fantastic walk with the geodog. Fortunately, forecast winds of 80-100kph winds didn't eventuate, but gusts would have been near enough. This is 10 min. drive from home & I never knew about it. Just another terrific benefit of GCing. Took Geocoin & hope to deposit it in the Brisbane Ranges, 60km West of Melbourne in the next couple of days. TFTC Ian & Nola

Figured I needed something more than "drive bys" to get my fitness up for a forth-coming trip to Tassie. Reached the top in 55 minutes and after a few more, grabbed the cache. Beautiful Grass Tree in full flower at the summit. Pity about the ugly old pole beside it. My plan was to head from here, cross-country to "Walk On" then return the same way but the vegetation seemed so thick and scratchy, that I chickened out and decided an approach from the North might be a better option. I've done a few walks over the years in the northern end and didn't find the scrub anywhere near as thick as it is at this end. Many thanks for the cache and for getting me off my butt and out walking. No swaps made.

Decided today would be a nice day for a long walk in the bush. Very nice walk and scenery. Took 47mins to get up to the top. Don't bypass this one thinking the walk will be tooooo hard. Take your time and it is quite easy.
Left "I'm Tempted" Geocoin. Took Nothing.
Thanks VK3JAP-Ian

Could not let this cache get too lonely as I wasn't far away on the prior Monday. Should have done the full circuit and picked up both on the same day but there are many short but steep hills in the area that test your endurance.

A solid walk to the top in about 55 mins with good views on the way up. Cheers Ian for another one!

It didn't really surprise me that no one had visited this cache during the week as the weather has been freezing.
So I followed the cache instructions to the letter. I plugged all the waypoints in as it gave me something to do on the long walk. Although it was cold I was nice and warm by the time I crested the summit. My GPS said it was 2.59km back to the car as the GPS flies, considerbly longer by the tracks.
No surprise to claim the FTF here at 10am, my second of the morning.
Fantastic views from the cairn and a quicker walk out as most of it was downhill. Thanks for showing this corner of the Pyrete. Took yoyo and left tape measure.
Thankyou.
